Jim Durbin is a retained search headhunter and trainer specializing in social media.  Jim is an expert and frequent speaker on online employment, sourcing strategies and using social media in the hiring process.  He is also one of the top trainers in the US, training over 7000 recruiters on the use of LinkedIn and Facebook.  He spent nine years in St. Louis as a recruiter, and wrote the popular blog Stl Recruiting.com.

 

The three sessions will include:  

Session #1:  10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. - LinkedIn Basics - LinkedIn has become the go to website for recruiters.  97% of companies that use social media start with LinkedIn, turning it into a 1.5 billion dollar corporate giant.  But LinkedIn changes every few months, and for those just getting started, it can be intimidating.  In this 90 minute training you will learn:  How to create a profile that convinces candidates you're a professional, who to add to your network and who to keep out.  Live Searches to impress your friends and family, how to use Groups to improve your search results, How to connect with candidates inside and outside the system.  Google searches (also known as X-ray or Boolean), How to setup your profile for maximum security.

 Lunch will be served during the Facebook Session

Session #2:  11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.  Facebook Graph:  Targeted for third party recruiters, this class lays the groundwork for successful recruiting using Facebook.  With the implementation of Face book Graph Search, recruiters can now filter candidates by company, job title, location and technology.  The presentation is a basics skills class for Facebook recruiting.  Jim will provide detailed instruction on proper etiquette, connection strategies, and potential objections.  Facebook is the largest social network in the world, hosting over a billion profiles.  It includes thousands of job categories not found on LinkedIn, and it is expected to compete with LinkedIn for a slice of the recruiting market in the next three years. Facebook is already considered a source for 18 million hires. And we're going to learn how to use it. In this 90 minute training you will learn: Sourcing strategies to find candidates in all disciplines .Live examples of current searches, How to contact candidates on Facebook, Alternate contact strategies for passive candidates in a variety of disciplines, How to integrate Facebook with other social sites and How to differentiate your private and business use of Facebook.

 

Session #3: 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. - LinkedIn Advanced: This class provides more advanced strategies for using LinkedIn to find and hire candidates for your client. Specifically, the class is designed for those currently using LinkedIn, but who are now ready to move into intermediate or more advanced tactics. Jim will provide detailed instruction on using LinkedIn as a primary tool for sourcing and connecting with candidates. In this 90 minute training you will learn: Updated sourcing strategies for 2014 with both free and paid LinkedIn accounts. Faster ways to search for candidates both inside and outside your network.  Why algorithm changes make it easier for third party recruiters to make placements.  Live searches - lots of live search examples, How to use your client's current employees to find new business opportunities and how you're giving away your best candidates to other recruiters.
